Women’s Healthcare Associates is pleased to announce the opening of Northwest Perinatal Center East on the campus of Providence Portland Medical Center in northeast Portland.
Northwest Perinatal Center is a leader in the field of maternal-fetal medicine, also known as perinatology. “Our team of maternal-fetal medicine specialists, genetic counselors and sonographers specializes in consultation and complete medical services for the highest risk pregnancies,” says Women’s Healthcare Associates CEO Brian Kelly. “This second location has long been necessary not only due to demand but also for the convenience of women on the east side of the metro area and we’re very excited to see this dream becoming a reality.”
Northwest Perinatal Center sees referred patients from all parts of NW Oregon and SW Washington—from The Dalles to the coast and Longview to Salem. Kelly also mentioned the timing is perfect, as Providence Health and Services is opening a Level II neonatal intensive care unit in late summer of 2014 at Providence Portland Medical Center, and many of those patients will benefit from advanced medical services for moms and newborns in close proximity.
Services provided by Northwest Perinatal Center include ultrasound, prenatal screening and diagnosis, genetic counseling and consultation and/or management of complicated pregnancies, such as recurrent miscarriages or stillbirths. The center will also specialize in multiples (twins, triplets, etc.), hypertension/high blood pressure, diabetes, premature birth, Rh disease and fetal complications.
