We recognize what we can’t see. Like where a woman is coming from. What unassisted miracle she just pulled off for a friend. What teething tantrum she nursed through the night. What menopausal wake-up call she’s answering. So we look beyond appearances. We intuit what’s not in her medical chart. We help her navigate her journey.
We are a team, tight-roping the world between mind-blowing miracles, and adorable (or Mt. Malignant?) moles. We’re a support staff, passionate about humanizing healthcare, from the waiting room to the exam room. We have doctors and crazy families ourselves, along with fears, vulnerabilities, and courage. Together, we listen. This is the most advanced technology we have. Our patients are wiser than they know.
So we uncomplicate. We dedicate time to liberating options. We disparage judgment—goat milk, soymilk, just-pumped milk? Yes. To each mother her own. To each daughter her own. To each grandmother her gutsy own. We believe laughter is the secret to longevity. In the work of heartening healthcare, we wake up for women—for all parts of her and her story.
At WHA we are dedicated to creating care plans as unique as the women who walk through our doors. Our OB/GYN physicians, maternal-fetal medicine specialists, certified nurse-midwives, nurse practitioners and counselors are women’s health experts, as well as careful listeners and compassionate partners in every stage of your wellness journey. Being part of our family means you have access to 16 locations throughout the Portland metropolitan region, including Portland, Happy Valley, Oregon City, Tualatin, Newberg and Hillsboro. Our family also includes the advanced gynecology and urogynecology services of our Northwest Gynecology Centers, the high-risk pregnancy care and genetic counseling services of our Northwest Perinatal Centers and out-of-hospital, natural childbirth at our Midwifery Birth Center. All of this, plus access to hospital care at eight regional hospitals.OUR HISTORY OF CARING FOR WOMEN
The strength of our relationships and the quality of our connections with one another, with the women and families we serve and with our colleagues in the community is the cornerstone of providing safe, high quality medical care and an experience that is uplifting and enriching. Through every interaction, in big ways and small, we strive to be inviting, authentic, knowledgeable and caring. Creating an experience rather than just a transaction is our commitment to you and what makes WHA family–we hope you feel that from the moment you walk through our doors.OUR VISION AND VALUES
"I walked into [my] appointment expecting a quick in and out, not very personal experience. What I got instead was probably the best treatment that I've ever received at any doctor's office, and on top of that I got in the same day that I called to set up the appointment. I had no idea when I walked in for an appointment for a pap smear, that I would be walking out with a plan in place to deal with much larger issue of depression in my life that I have been unable to address on my own. It is truly amazing to walk into a doctor's office full of questions about one thing, but the leave with answers to questions I didn't even know I needed to ask."
We wake up for women, every day. We’re inspired by their strength, their stories and the choices they make in pursuing health for themselves and their families. Our vision is that every woman will have the care and knowledge she needs to lead a full and healthy life. Will you help us achieve it?VIEW OUR JOB OPENINGS
