Provider Bio

Julia St. Lawrence, CNM, is a certified nurse-midwife at Women's Healthcare Associates in the Portland, Oregon area. She primarily sees patients via telehealth.

From the Provider

“Seeing a healthcare provider for something as intimate as your reproductive or sexual health isn’t easy, especially if you haven’t had positive, supportive experiences in the past. I want each person I see to feel accepted, no matter where they are coming from. My goal is to truly be present with my patients and create a safe, non-judgmental space for them to talk about their health. I want them to leave feeling listened to, respected, and well cared for.”

About the Provider

Julia credits her first visit with a nurse-midwife at her college’s student health clinic with setting her down the path to becoming one and shaping how she practices to this day. She loves the variety of her practice which includes caring for teens who are just beginning menstruation through women in their 70s who are long past menopause. She helps her patients with reproductive health issues including birth control, abnormal bleeding, sexual function, preventative health screening, and perimenopause and menopause symptoms. Julia strives to be a supportive partner in helping each person make progress toward their wellness goals by encouraging them to take small, manageable steps and to celebrate their successes. In addition to gynecology and women’s wellness, she also sees women for routine prenatal visits in the office although she no longer delivers babies.

Julia has two kids, a tween and a teen.  While she aspires to do more gardening and outdoor activities, she can usually be found catching up on housework or laundry when she’s not working.
