“Some of my favorite visits are the ones where someone says, ‘That wasn’t nearly as bad as I expected.’ Helping people feel comfortable in healthcare never gets old.”
About the Provider
Growing up in Alabama, Miranda was drawn to pregnancy and birth long before she knew midwifery was a profession. Nursing always felt like the right path, but it wasn’t until she discovered the midwifery model of care that she realized there was a profession built around the kind of birth support she had been imagining. She chose certified nurse-midwifery because it offered the broadest training and the opportunity to care for people throughout their reproductive lives—not just during pregnancy.
Becoming a parent deepened that perspective. Shortly after beginning her midwifery training, Miranda welcomed her first child during the COVID-19 pandemic and found her carefully imagined birth plan unexpectedly changed by gestational hypertension, a cesarean birth and early breastfeeding challenges. Those experiences help her connect with patients whose plans don’t unfold the way they expected. She enjoys helping people understand their options, work through difficult decisions and find confidence and peace in whatever path their care takes.
Miranda provides gynecology, pregnancy and birth care, with particular interest in low-risk prenatal care, physiologic birth and sexual health. Whether she’s welcoming someone for a first prenatal visit or a first gynecology appointment, she believes good care starts with listening, answering questions thoroughly and helping people know what to expect. She especially values creating a comfortable, judgment-free experience for people who are new to gynecologic care or haven’t always felt at ease in medical settings. What she loves most about midwifery is getting to know the whole story—not just a pregnancy, but the family, relationships and life surrounding it. Those relationships often continue through postpartum care, gynecology and future pregnancies, allowing her to care for people through many different seasons of life.
Outside of work, Miranda and her husband are busy raising their three young children. They enjoy board games, hiking and cooking together. After years of hoping to call the Pacific Northwest home, she’s excited to finally be here, close to her sister and exploring Oregon with her family.
