From the Provider
“Compassion, education and excellence are the pillars I strive for in caring for each person. Each patient has a different set of circumstances and helping them navigate the complexities of their symptoms is what I enjoy the most. For me, listening to each patient’s story is the most important part of being able to facilitate a treatment plan that fits her needs.”
About the Provider
Dr. Mukul's clinical focus includes menstrual irregularities, fibroid treatment options, endometriosis, ovarian cysts, pelvic pain, polycystic ovary syndrome and minimally invasive surgery. He has additional training in using ultrasound to help diagnose gynecologic conditions. He was the first fellowship-trained minimally invasive gynecologic surgeon in the Portland area when he helped to establish WHA’s first Northwest Gynecology Center office in 2008. Although he is a surgical expert in gynecology and is often consulted by colleagues for his expertise in minimally invasive techniques—including robotics—he believes in maximizing medical options before recommending surgery. Dr. Mukul continues to work in the areas of surgical education and quality improvement, serving as a clinical faculty member at Oregon Health & Sciences University, where enjoys teaching students and residents. He is also the medical director of WHA’s office surgery program and Director of Gynecology.
In his spare time, Dr. Mukul enjoys spending time with his family, hiking, soccer, camping, going to Timbers games and travel.
