From the Provider

“Women deserve advocates in medicine. Too many have had their symptoms brushed off as emotional or exaggerated. What I want every patient to know is: I believe you and I will work with you to help you find relief.”

About the Provider

Amber fell in love with women’s healthcare as a nursing assistant on a labor and delivery unit — and she has never left. She spent years as a labor and delivery nurse, then moved into reproductive endocrinology and fertility care, supporting patients through IVF and the pre- and post-operative stages of fertility treatment. Along the way, a mentor taught her a lesson that still anchors her practice: believe women. She has seen too many patients arrive having been dismissed as emotional or told their symptoms were exaggerated, and she considers it her job to be the person who listens and takes them seriously. Wanting to keep growing drew her back to school for her advanced practice degree and training and eventually to urogynecology, a specialty that had always interested her. She loves the depth of specialized care, the fact that there is always something new to learn, and the trust involved in caring for patients during vulnerable moments of their lives.

Amber sees patients experiencing pelvic floor conditions, including urinary incontinence, overactive bladder, pelvic organ prolapse, recurrent urinary tract infections, accidental bowel leakage and pelvic floor changes after childbirth. She especially loves procedures, and with years of operating room experience from her labor and delivery and fertility days, she looks forward to assisting in surgery, as well. What she finds most rewarding is seeing a patient’s quality of life improved.

Outside of work, Amber can often be found in the kitchen; her first career plan was pastry chef, and while nursing won out, the baking never stopped. She also enjoys cooking, hiking and traveling, and she is married with three dogs.
