Our Services: Ultrasound
Fetal and Gynecological Imaging
Ultrasound uses high-frequency sound waves to create an image of soft tissues within the body. Most people are familiar
with the use of ultrasound to see the baby while still in the womb. But new developments in ultrasound have also made it extremely useful for imaging the reproductive system in order to diagnose problems such as pelvic pain, unusual vaginal bleeding, or infertility issues.
Ultrasound's high-frequency sound waves are produced by a smooth probe placed either on the abdomen or, in some cases, within the vagina. The waves pass through the body, are reflected back to the probe, analyzed by a computer, and finally displayed on a monitor. Typically, light pressure is the only sensation you might feel during an ultrasound examination. Sophisticated ultrasound procedures are easily and safely performed onsite at any of our convenient locations.
