Provider Bio

Dr. Stephanie Higgins is a board-eligible OB/GYN physician and surgeon at Women's Healthcare Associates in Hillsboro, Oregon.

From the Provider

"I am excited to come to work everyday because of the amazing people I meet at my job. I love the opportunity to be a part of a team and collaborate to solve problems. Every woman is unique, and even if she has a problem that I’ve seen before, the solution that worked for another patient might not work for her. I love talking through problems and solutions and coming up with an answer that is right for the person sitting in front of me."

About the Provider

Dr. Higgins was drawn to a career in medicine early by her fascination with the complexity of the human body and how it works, together with her passion for communicating and helping people. Obstetrics and gynecology was a natural fit for her because of the variety of physical and emotional changes and challenges that women face throughout their lifetimes.

Being able to help during what can be stressful, joyful and private times in a woman’s life is one of the aspects of OB/GYN that Dr. Higgins enjoys most. She loves building relationships and helping her patients through every stage of their reproductive lives, whether that's helping them learn about their sexual health, choose contraception, plan and care for a pregnancy or deal with the symptoms of menopause. She helps her patients address a variety of reproductive health issues, such as abnormal, irregular or heavy bleeding; painful periods; pelvic pain and infections; pain with intercourse; and infertility. Her interests also include adolescent health and minimally invasive surgery.

Born and raised in the Portland area, Dr. Higgins is happy to be back in the Pacific Northwest after her medical training took her across the country. She enjoys hiking, biking, being outdoors and spending time with family, as well as cooking and curling up on the couch with a good book.

Dr. Higgins and the WHCA staff made me feel comfortable. The Biopsy itself was not painful. I appreciated Dr Higgins showing me the tissue samples before sending them to the lab.
