Provider Bio

Maggie Hayes, MD, is an obstetrician/gynecologist with Women's Healthcare Associates, LLC in Portland, Oregon.

From the Provider

“A successful day for me is one where I have made meaningful connections with my patients. Where we have been able to have conversations that help them understand what’s happening and guide how they think and feel about their situation and health. Where I have been able to inform their perspective and support their dignity and autonomy.”

About the Provider

With a love of learning inspired by her mother, Dr. Hayes returned to school to pursue medicine after working with lung cancer and lung transplant patients as a pulmonary technician for 10 years. She draws similarities between the first part of her career and OB/GYN; namely, the opportunity to build long-term relationships with patients and support them through some of the most joyful, challenging and sometimes tragic periods of their lives. She loves the diversity offered by obstetrics and gynecology with its mix of education, medicine, surgery, primary, and specialty care. And, of course—she considers supporting people on the journey to parenthood a unique and magical privilege. Dr. Hayes particularly appreciates caring for people who identify as LGBTQ+ and has a strong interest in transgender and gender-affirming care. She also connects well with adolescents and in working with them, hopes to set the stage for a lifetime of positive, supportive relationships with reproductive healthcare providers.

Dr. Hayes served on the diversity and inclusion board of Rochester Regional Health System where she completed her residency program. She is married and enjoys cycling, swimming and rock climbing.

Maggie is wonderful! It was my first visit with her and she made me feel so comfortable and at ease.

I was going through one of the most traumatic experiences of my life, and I could not have asked for more compassionate or informative care from start to finish. I know the tech couldn't tell me what was wrong - but it was obvious to me that something was and she could not have been more lovely. The practice scheduled a meeting with the doctor immediately rather than making me wait for the one I had several hours later. I had never met Dr. Hayes before but she was absolutely wonderful - I repeat her words to myself to head off the horrific guilt that can come with miscarriage. I felt I fully understood my options for a path forward. And in follow up calls and contact with Women's Healthcare Associates, I have felt so much care and kindness. I hope to have a baby - and would never consider anyone else for my care than Women's Healthcare. Thank you so very much.

I loved the dr. It took a long time to get an appointment and a long time once I was checked in for my appointment.

Absolutely incredible - I have never felt so safe and cared for at the gynecologist before. My wish is for every person who visits the doctor be treated the way I was. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Dr. Hayes. I haven’t been to the gynecologist in five years and not once did she ever make me feel ashamed or uncomfortable but rather cared for and valued. I told all my friends that if you need to see a gyno it should be Dr. Hayes
