Originally from Northern California, Joy grew up on a raspberry farm in central Ohio. She attended Macalester College in St. Paul, Minnesota and graduated in 1993 with a BA in Environmental Studies. Joy spent several years working in the field of environmental education, and as an Outward Bound instructor before pursuing a career in women’s health. She attended nursing school at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center and completed her Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner master's degree in 2004. She was granted her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree in 2007.
Before joining Bridgeview, Joy worked as a nurse practitioner for Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains, Planned Parenthood Columbia/ Willamette and Oregon Reproductive Medicine.
Joy feels very fortunate to be practicing with such a great team of physicians, nurses and clinic staff. She strives to make her patients feel comfortable and safe in the clinic setting and believes that women should be empowered and supported to make informed health care decisions.
In her free time, Joy enjoys exploring the Pacific Northwest with her husband, son and daughter.
