Wellness care at WHA begins with a wellbeing assessment that you will complete in MyHealth before your visit. It includes questions about your medical and family history, but also questions that help us assess your emotional and mental wellbeing; behavioral health (such as alcohol and drug use); and social situation, including living arrangements, family and relationships.

Right about now you may be thinking, “why does my gyno need to know all that?” It’s simple, really. We care. Not just about your reproductive health, but YOU—all of you. It doesn’t make sense for us to just focus on your pelvis if you’re so stressed you can’t sleep or you’re having a hard time putting food on the table. We want to connect you to whatever resources you need to achieve overall health and wellbeing. And we’ll focus on your pelvis, too.

Some of the things we may suggest as part of your wellness visit include:

  • Pregnancy prevention and family planning
  • Cervical cancer screening and HPV testing
  • Breast health and disease screening
  • General health screenings, such as blood pressure, blood sugar, cholesterol, etc.
  • Self-care
  • Healthy lifestyle
  • Vaccinations
  • Referrals for behavioral or mental health
  • Referrals for community assistance

Our physicians, nurse practitioners and nurse-midwives are here to meet you wherever you are in your wellness journey and to walk it with you.
