Dr. Manijeh Kamyar is a board-certified maternal-fetal medicine specialist and OB/GYN physician and surgeon at Northwest Perinatal Center in Portland, Oregon.
"I am one of the lucky few who truly feels as though work isn’t work, but something I have the privilege of doing. I get to interact with amazing, strong, brave patients every day and with that, I have the opportunity to impact the lives of entire families in a positive way. I am supported by a community of like-minded individuals who all feel similarly, and have the goal of providing their patients with exceptional care."
Drawn to medicine by her desire to serve others in a meaningful way, Dr. Kamyar considers it a gift to be able to help women navigate one of the most intimate and significant parts of their lives. She is passionate about helping patients and their loved ones understand complicated and difficult topics, leaving her office not only with the information they need to care for themselves and make decisions, but also a sense of calm and peace of mind.
Dr. Kamyar's interests include fetal anomalies, maternal diabetes and nutrition and maternal substance abuse/use. As a specialist in high-risk pregnancies, she also sees patients for preterm labor, multifetal pregnancies, recurrent pregnancy loss, maternal cardiac conditions and maternal thyroid disease.
Dr. Kamyar grew up in San Diego and spent most of her life in southern California before moving to Salt Lake City for her fellowship in maternal-fetal medicine. While there, she grew to truly love the outdoors, especially skiing. After a brief period in Las Vegas, she, her husband and their two active boys are happy to be near the forests, mountains and beaches of the Pacific Northwest. When the family is not hiking, skiing, paddle boarding or attending sports events, Dr. Kamyar also reads, spends time with friends and enjoys the delicious food scene that Portland has to offer.
