Provider Bio

Cassandra Hodge, CNM, is a certified nurse-midwife with Women's Healthcare Associates in Portland, Oregon.

From the Provider

“Being able to connect with my patients on a human level is one of the most satisfying aspects of my practice. Whether that’s through humor, a shared experience or working together to plan the best path forward—finding what makes each person comfortable so they can share and feel heard and understood is my goal at every visit.”

About the Provider

With an art degree under her belt, Cassandra's life plan took a turn after attending the birth of her niece, an experience she describes as “life changing.” After attending home births as a certified labor doula and, later, a professional midwife, she returned to school to become a certified nurse-midwife, allowing her to provide a broader range of care to more people across the lifespan—including pregnancy, gynecology and wellness care. Cassandra enjoys all aspects of prenatal care, birth and supporting people in the transition to parenthood. She is also interested in helping people understand and make decisions about their fertility, including contraceptive and pregnancy options counseling. She has some additional training in gender-affirming hormone therapy and is interested in helping people manage the symptoms of menopause. She enjoys working with teens, transgender and non-binary people and finds it especially rewarding to connect with those who may be visiting a reproductive healthcare specialist for the first time.

Outside of work, Cassandra enjoys being outdoors and hiking with her husband and son. She also paints and does various crafts, including sewing, embroidery and knitting.

Thank you for helping me work through the journey of menopause! Talking about HRT was a blessing.

I've been really frightened about this process. Cassie and her team made me both comfortable and experience total and unexpected elation regarding my options, feeling of safety and willingness to express empathy. I immediately felt safe and secure. This is no small thing when you're in true need of medical help. I left feeling that if I had any additional concerns or questions that I was welcome to call and have them addressed in a thoughtful, caring way. Thank you to the entire team... from scheduling, admittance, and directly to Cassie and her assistant for really working me during a difficult time.

I was very pleased with the entire visit (services) offered through Women's Healthcare Assoc. Everyone I came in contact with was kind, helpful, and even though the health concern that brought me to the clinic was stressful, the staff put me at ease. A very good experience.

I am so appreciative of Dr. Hodge - I’ve had many appts with all kinds of doctors and much of the time if something isn’t in their wheelhouse so-to-speak, they just sort of give me a “good-luck” kind of attitude and send me on my way whereas Dr Hodge listened intently, understood that she wasn’t the best person for my case, and referred me promptly to someone else. This is huge!!!!
