Ultrasound is very useful in gynecology for examining the organs in the pelvis. These include the reproductive organs, such as the uterus, ovaries and cervix, and the organs of the urinary tract, such as the bladder. Ultrasound is a relatively easy and cost-effective tool to help your Women's Healthcare Associates provider evaluate the cause of gynecological symptoms, such as pelvic pain or unusual vaginal bleeding.
The sonographers at Women’s Healthcare Associates who perform gynecological ultrasound are registered to do so by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers. The images they obtain during your exam are read and interpreted by designated OB/GYN physicians within our practice who report the results to your provider.
