What is it Like to Have a Bone Density Test?
All tests are completely non-invasive and pain-free. If your clothing contains no metal, you may not even have to put on an examination gown. You simply lie on a padded table while low-level x-rays scan your bones. The radiation level used is about ten times lower that that of a standard chest x-ray.
