Dr. Schmitke is a native Oregonian. She attended South Salem High School and Oregon State University. She left her home state for medical school at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, returning to Oregon to complete her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Oregon Health & Science University. She is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology. Her professional interests center on obstetrics and adolescent gynecology.
Dr. Schmitke loves animals, and is the proud owner of Sammie, a nine-year-old Golden Retriever. She and her family enjoy the outdoors, especially Eastern Oregon, when time allows. Her interests also include quilting, sewing and cooking.
